About CMPTEC
CMPTEC stands for Civilian Management, Professional and Technical Employees Council. Established in 1979, the 350 management and professional-level employees with the City of Omaha formed CMPTEC to ensure they exercised their right to negotiate for a fair labor contract.

Equal Work, Equal Pay
Prior to negotiations beginning for the next contract, we are asking for members to ensure that their job classification/description is accurate.
Section 23-114 of the Omaha Municipal Code allows for the request to HR to perform a job study, with other alternatives including classification revisions and competitive promotional opportunities. Issue 3 of City of Omaha Human Resources "News You Can Use" contains more information.
Employment Benefits
In the 2022 contract, CMPTEC secured new and increased benefits to include: longevity pay; language pay; five (5) year vesting period; vacation scheduling until the end of the year; sick leave for FMLA; faster out-of-class compensation; and shift differential pay.
